🔴 On January 23, 2026, a cleric of the Volodymyr-Volyn diocese of the UOC, the rector of the Pokrovsky church in the village of Torhovyshche, Archpriest Vitaliy Chaban, while undergoing inpatient treatment, received a summons to update his registration data and reported to the Turiysk TCC. After that, the clergyman was taken to Lutsk to undergo a military medical commission.

According to information from the diocese, the military medical commission confirmed the previously established diagnosis and the status of limited fitness for military service on health grounds. Despite this, after the medical examination was completed, Archpriest Vitaliy was taken in an unknown direction. It later became known that the clergyman was transported to a military training ground in Starychi, Lviv Oblast.

The diocese emphasized that during the full-scale hostilities, Father Vitaliy was engaged in volunteer activities, providing assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilians in the affected regions. Believers were called upon to offer intensified prayer for Archpriest Vitaliy Chaban due to serious concerns about his state of health.
