On January 7, 2026, in Chernivtsi, employees of the TCC detained cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC Archpriest Mykola Syniuk.

The clergyman had been conducting services at the Vvedensky Monastery in the city of Chernivtsi.

Information regarding the circumstances of the detention and the whereabouts of the clergyman is absent. The faithful of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy have called for intensified prayer for Archpriest Mykola Syniuk.
